Today my guest on Hometown to Hollywood is the wonderful Emmy-nominated television director, writer, producer, animator, story artist, and voice actress Aliki Theofilopoulos.

Aliki is best known for her work on The Disney Channel’s Phinneas and Ferb, Mickey, and the Descendants Wicked World series. She began her career on Disney movies including Hercules, Mulan, Fantasia 2000 and many more. Today she is supervising producer for a new show at Dreamworks.

Aliki is guided by her drive for authenticity, and uses fear as a signal to move toward, rather than away from a challenge.

A little wisdom from today’s podcast:

  • “Do what it takes to become good.”
  • “Always take the meeting.”

Favorite quotes from Aliki’s TEDx Talk:

  • “Our greatest gift—to the universe– is to be our truest self.”
  • “Your fear doesn’t have to stop you from being who you want to be.”
